Top 10 Modern Architectural Marvels

We have all caught about the architectural marvels of the antique world. True, the scheming of the Pyramids, the Taj Mahal or the Leaning Barbican of Pisa must have taken some strange minds and technology. However, people are often ignorant of the brilliant building intended in the last hundred years. Here are ten examples of such wonderful buildings-

Installed in 1973, the Sydney Opera House is one of the best instances of modern architectural marvels. It was intended by Danish architect Jorn Utzon. The building contains of three groups of meshed ‘shells’, with each shell being a part of a enormous sphere. Its setting in the Sydney harbor makes it looks beautiful, particularly when viewed from the sky. The style of architecture is extensively described as Expressionist in nature

1- Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao, Spain

The Guggenheim Museum was installed in 1997 and fits to the Solomon R Guggenheim Basis. It is respected by architects all over the world for its contemporary, contemporary architecture. In 1991, three designers were asked to put forward their conceptualization of the museum. These were Arata Isozaki, Coop Himmelbau and Frank O Gehry. The Canadian-American designer Frank Gehry’s design was selected and work on the museum started soon after. The museum, which houses paintings from famous artists in Spain and other countries as well, is built in an innovative manner with random arcs on the outer walls designed to catch the light. The hall of the museum is shaped like a flower. The resources used for construction were titanium, stone and glass, moving away from the old-style brick and grout.
